Baroness War returns to Vulcanfeldt!

March 27-29, 2026 | Grandview Event Center & Rodeo Grounds

The Barony of Vulcanfeldt once again calls the realm to arms! Rally your warbands, polish your armor, and prepare to earn word fame in the name of your Baroness. This year’s war promises a full array of combat: open field, castle, and bridge battles await those bold enough to answer the call.

Not drawn to the clash of steel? Saturday and Sunday prize tournaments in armored and rapier combat, along with equestrian and archery activities, offer glory of a different kind. And throughout the weekend, prizes will be awarded for excellence in the Arts and Sciences, Bardic performance, and more.

Join Their Excellencies of Vulcanfeldt as they host a weekend of celebration, competition, and camaraderie. Archery, equestrian, rapier, classes, and displays will fill the grounds with life and learning. Her Excellency Tai welcomes all to the Baroness’ Coffee Bar on Saturday — contributions of tea and coffee are most welcome.

In accordance with the Most Sacred Instructions of Armaments, the number of items thou shalt bring is three. Three shall be the number of thy submissions, and the number of thy submissions shall be three. Four shalt thou not bring, nor shalt thou bring two, unless it be to then proceed to three. We eagerly look forward to your beautiful handiwork!

  • Bardic: Bring your stories, your songs, your magic tricks!

THE HEART OF THE BARONY COMPETITION:  A quest to discover which Baroness is most beloved in the Kingdom, shown not by her own hand, but through the works and dedication of her populace. Throughout the event, every act of skill, service, artistry, and spirit will stand as a testament to the love a barony bears for its Baroness. In the true tradition of the SCA, “in service to the Dream,” the people themselves will determine who shall earn the honour of The Heart of the Barony.

How to participate:  The Baroness with the most tokens will take the prize. Use your tokens at the end of each day to vote for your favored Baroness. Tokens will be awarded throughout the event, and you can earn them by doing the following

        • Through acts of service, courtesy, and valor
        • Support your baroness in challenges throughout the event
        • Participate in activities
        • Volunteer your time (many hands make light work)
        • Display your Barony’s colors and unity
        • Contribute to the spirit of the SCA credo: “In Service to the Dream.”

Site Closes Sunday, March 29th at 3 PM. Please be packed up and off-site by 3 PM so our cleanup crew can do a walk-through and gather all the items you’ve forgotten.
If you should arrive when the gate is closed, please be courteous to your hosts and stop by later in the day to pay your site fee.
CAMPING:
  • Group Camping: Are you camping with a group? Please contact us with the dimensions required, and we will do our best to accommodate you!
  • RV Camping: This site does NOT have hookups. If you plan to bring an RV, please contact us ahead of time with the length and width of your RV.

SITE FEES: 

  • Adult Camping /Weekend: Non-member $35, members $25
  • Adult Day: Non-member $30, members $20
  • 17 years of age and under: FREE
Pet Policy: Please be a responsible pet owner. Keep your pet on a leash. Pick up after them and place items in the dumpster.
Weather: We are located in eastern An Tir, and those who live here know that the weather is unpredictable. We advise you to plan for wind, rain, and sun, sometimes within minutes of each other. Over the past several years, the weather during this time has typically been Highs in the low‑to‑mid 50s°F, Lows around 30°F, and mostly dry. Dress warmly.  As they say, if you don’t like the weather, just wait five minutes. Available on site: potable water, limited electricity, restrooms.
